For over 20 years, Allways Clean has been providing high-quality cleaning services to customers in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Project Overview

Allways Clean, a cleaning company with over 20 years of experience in the industry, approached us with a problem of an outdated website that failed to reflect their brand, values, and services. They wanted a new website that would be modern, professional, and user-friendly, regardless of the device that visitors were using.

Objective

  • Design a modern, professional site to reflect the experience and trustworthiness of the company
  • Develop a site that is very user-friendly regardless of device (mobile-friendly and responsive)
  • Improve user experience and customer satisfaction

Ideation

After working closely with Allways Clean to get a sense of their brand and values, I started with the information architecture, making sure all elements were easy to navigate so that even first-time visitors would be able to find exactly what they needed without ever getting lost in a sea of text or images.

Wireframes

As part of the design process, I created wireframes to act as a blueprint for the site’s pages. This  ensured that I was heading in the right direction before putting a lot of time into full mockups of the user interface complete with colors, fonts, and other design elements.
Style Guide

This was my first project in Figma.

I wanted the UI to be simple and clean, but also modern and up-to-date.
I achieved this by using a combination of cool green colors that matched their work uniform,
then completed the look with a modern sans-serif typeface.

The Solution

This was my first project in Figma.
Together with the marketing director, we kicked off the project with a discovery session to learn more about Allways Clean’s brand, their business goals for the website, and their ideal target customer. Once I had a solid understanding of Allways Clean’s business goals and target market, I got to work on creating a modern, professional website design that would reflect the experience and trustworthiness of the company.

The new website features a clean, organized layout with clear call-to-actions and easy to navigate pages. In addition to updating the design, I also rebuilt the website on a new content management system platform (Wordpress) which makes it easier for Allways Clean to make updates and manage their new site.

TAKEAWAY

Biggest takeaway is I learned it’s okay to bite off more than you can chew sometimes — as they sometimes lead to unexpected lessons in CSS. This project truly helped me to solidify my knowledge in using Divi on Wordpress. I learned to develop without compromising the design aspect, and finished the site well within the timeframe.
