Objective

The objective of the project was to create a platform that embodies the values and culture of ROHEI, allowing users to easily find answers to their questions, while being intuitive and enjoyable to use. It also needed to foster and encourage a sense of belongingness in a community.

Research and Analysis

Our UX team conducted extensive research to gain an in-depth understanding of the users and their needs. We created user personas to maintain objectivity while empathizing with the user's needs. We also created comprehensive information architecture and user flow diagrams, mapping every possible journey that a user might take to ensure a seamless experience and complete a task in the shortest amount of clicks.

Personas
These personas help to make better design decisions by maintaining objectivity while empathizing with the user’s needs.

Ideation
Before we can even create the wireframes, our UX team created a comprehensive information architecture and user flow diagrams. Mapping every possible journey that a user might take will ensure that our users will have a seamless experience and complete a task in the shortest amount of clicks.

Wireframes
As final preparations before proceeding to UI design, we created wireframes and sought feedback from the client to ensure that we were both on the same page regarding navigation and user flow.
Style Guide

This was my first project in Figma.

Remaining true to Rohei’s original color scheme and branding, I used their shades of black, yellow, and light gray.
The typeface is a modern sans-serif and matches their branding as well.
Conclusion

This was my first project in Figma.
The first thing about Rohei that appealed to me was the pride in what they do, the amount of humanity they invest into their venture in a world where every other business is just racing against each other for profitability. My first priority in designing their UI was to create a platform that would embody their values and culture.

The result is a platform that creates a sense of belongingness in a community. The user interface is intuitive and enjoyable, allowing users to find answers quickly, enjoy each interaction, and feel empowered regardless of where they are in their career.

TAKEAWAY

Being only the second project I had to do in Figma, WorkGuide really pushed me to learn more about prototyping, and fast. This proved to be helpful because through prototyping, I managed to catch some minute gaps in the user flow.

Additionally, with the prototype, the team, along with the clients, were also able to evaluate and test our design, identifying which aspects were impossible to implement within the timeline, so we were able to do the necessary adjustments before passing on the torch to the developers.
